We did this hike back in June but I skipped over it and never wrote a blog posting about it so thought I would post some pictures now. We first did this hike in 2012 and you can read about that hike here.
Heading up the trail.
Looking back down the trail.
Looking across at Mt Bierstadt (14,060’) and Mt. Evans (14,265’) and Mt. Spalding (13,842’).
Continuing up the trail.
Looking ahead at a snowfield crossing.
Arriving at the first lake.
After a short break, we continued on up to the higher lake. Looking down on the first lake.
We had some more snow fields to cross as we continued up.
We arrived at the upper lake.
I took a walk around the lake to see it from different angles.
Great views and great weather!
Lisa captured a lot of the blooming wildflowers as well as some great pictures of the pussy willows.
After taking in the views and having a lunch break, we headed back down the trail. We caught a nice reflection in a small pond just below the first lake.
I loved the clouds in this shot.
This is a great early season hike above tree line with great views!
